The Zambian side continues
to develop with the completion of the David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa
plus extra camp capacities and new product innovations. The Zimbabwean
side is quiet, remarkably clean, crime-free and if anything just gets better and
better for those who're happy to ignore the political and economic chaos.
The "lion encounter" and "elephant back trails" have become very popular over
the last 3 years and they're now available on both sides of the Zambezi -
advance bookings essential. White rhino were reintroduced back into
Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park (due for release in a few month's time).
Chris is manning our Victoria Falls when not on safari. Sam, Jools, Liz
and Trish all paid visits through last year and we're all working long and hard
with many old friends to keep Victoria Falls in the limelight.
The Zambian Immigration authorities have simplified and reduced visa charges...so
the Chobe one day trips are on and the Hwange safari extensions are definitely
the most appealing safaris from Victoria Falls. This relaxation has also
made things easy for our Mana Pools safaris starting from Lusaka.
If one place in Africa is "recession proof" then it's Victoria Falls.
We're looking forward to a very busy season again!
Look out for
- Hwange in Zimbabwe - safe, easily accessed, outstanding game, quiet
locations and top guides - get in before the crowds rediscover this gem in
Africa (speak to Trish, Jackie or Liz. Alternatively look consider one
of Chris Worden's privately guided
trip to Hwange).
- The Chobe combinations are easy, great fun and inexpensive - speak to
Liz or Jools.
- Speak to Mark, Jools or Sam about the Victoria Falls combinations and
the multi-day rafting trips!
