Latest news from Namibia
Namibia continues to be a popular choice for self drive clients – easy,
welcoming and affordable.
We’ve found some excellent solutions for both self drive and privately guided
guests, in the usual areas and further afield. Often overlooked, the Caprivi
Strip in the far north eastern corner of Namibia has proved a hit as somewhere
to dally en route to Victoria Falls.
Most recently explored by Jane and Debbie
they reported it as fantastic for fishing and just generally kicking back.
(Easily combined with our Botswana or Victoria Falls modules).
For the more adventurous, one of our best finds this year has been a
privately guided mobile camping safari in the further reaches of the Kaokoveld
(an area that John had the pleasure of exploring in detail over 20 years ago,
since covered by most recently by Trish and Chris).
Think wild camping “Zambezi” style -
first class guiding, dome tents and escaping to the quietest corners of the
wilderness. This isn't everybody's cup of tea but for anybody who's done
extended canoeing on the lower Zambezi or walking wild in Mana Pools,
Matusadona, the Luangwa or fringes of the Serengeti...then these Namibian
adventures are going to hit the spot!
Namibia’s going to be very competitive this season. Good for self-drive
clients wanting to explore inexpensively. Look out for some really good guides
who might be kicking their heels in the early part of the year.
- Going wild on the Kunene – top guides, rhino tracking and absolutely
remote camping.
- We have an exclusive arrangement with Wilderness Safaris in Namibia from
which we’re offering the “Wings over Namibia” flying safari at an “unbeatable”
value – if you can afford the extra time then add on the Skeleton Coast
Safari.
- Speak to Sam or Liz about combining the Caprivi Strip with Victoria
Falls and Botswana
