| Latest news from BotswanaBotswana is once again in high demand and because of the deliberate policy
of restricting capacity through small camps prices are high but the quality is
usually excellent. The secret in Botswana is simple - stick to owner run or private operations and avoid the "formula-driven" outfits. In the case of the latter the focus is on crisp uniforms and boutique camps as opposed to some of the longer standing companies where there's no compromise on comfort but where the primary focus is on guiding standards and wildlife. Everybody came away from Botswana with special memories and lots of photographs last season. The Linyanti and Okavango areas have been especially good. Muchenje has been a winner for everybody who went to Chobe. Chris spent quite some time guiding during last high season and Trish explored with some of our preferred suppliers as the green season started. The Central Kalahari and Nxai Pan reserves have opened up with two new camps, look out for the 2009 green season migration from December to April. Botswana's likely to take less strain from the recession than its neighbours and we're unlikely to see prices drop. It's very likely that visitor numbers are going to be down though and that's even better, but stick to the private operations... Look out for
